CAMRAIL strengthens its railway fleet with the delivery of 683 high-performance monobloc wheels
CAMRAIL, concessionaire of the Cameroonian railway, announces the receipt of a batch of 683 monobloc wheels for axles, platform wagons and locomotives. This acquisition, for an amount of 1,026,000,210 FCFA, marks a key step in the company’s rolling stock modernization and maintenance program.
The wheels, manufactured by Bonatrans Group A.S., a world leader in the production of railway components, constitute the first wave of a global order of 1,168 wheels. The choice of Bonatrans Group A.S, based in the Czech Republic, is based on their internationally recognized expertise. Also, the 683 monobloc wheels received in this way meet the strictest standards in terms of railway safety and durability.

«This delivery is in line with our strategy to strengthen the safety and reliability of our rail network and our fleet. These latest-generation wheels will optimize the performance of our trains, while reducing long-term maintenance costs. » Samy Soro I Director of Equipment at CAMRAIL
In line with the overall preventive and corrective maintenance policy implemented by CAMRAIL, this acquisition will also make it possible to reduce technical downtime and maintain a high wagon availability rate.
The arrival of 683 one-piece wheels in CAMRAIL’s workshops comes as the company will acquire 100 additional platform wagons to strengthen its transport capacity. All this underlines CAMRAIL’s commitment to investing in quality equipment and demonstrates a clear desire to modernize rail transport in Cameroon, for the benefit of users and the national economy.
