As part of the effective start of activities of Yiri, the innovation center of Africa Global Logistics (AGL) dedicated to the development of start-ups in Africa, Pangaea X, MSC Foundation and AGL announce the launch of a hackathon dedicated to youth entrepreneurship in Ivory Coast. This unique and free event, which will be held from May 30 to June 1, 2024, in the city of Assinie, aims to reveal and support young Ivorian talents wishing to develop innovative projects, while contributing to the preservation of the environment.

A unique opportunity for young entrepreneurs

This hackathon is open to young women and men between the ages of 18 and 30 who are passionate about entrepreneurship and sustainable development. Over an intense period of three days, participants will be invited to form teams of 2 to 4 people, with a view to working on the design and development of their business project. This event will provide these young entrepreneurs with an exceptional opportunity to turn their innovative ideas into reality, while benefiting from a mentorship framework and funding offered by Pangaea X.

Motivating rewards

The winning team of the hackathon will have the chance to join Yiri’s incubation program. This AGL technological laboratory will offer these young entrepreneurs specific support programs that will allow them to acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to make their business project a reality. In addition, the winners of the first prize will benefit from an incubation at Pangaea X in Europe, including an enriching trip to Switzerland and Paris and the possibility of winning €20,000, or about 13 million FCFA, to develop their project. The other participating teams will also benefit from supervision within the Yiri center, for the development of their entrepreneurial project.

How to participate?

Interested young entrepreneurs are invited to form their team and submit their project on the official pangaeax.org website. The selection by the jury composed of representatives from AGL, Horn Foundation, MSC Foundation, UNICEF and renowned entrepreneurs will be rigorous, with only 10 teams chosen to participate in this entrepreneurial adventure.

The jury will be composed of the following personalities: Asta-Rosa Cissé, Regional Director of AGL (Côte d’Ivoire-Burkina Faso), Marina Anselme, Secretary General of MSC Foundation, Pauline Mocchi, Head of Partnerships at UNICEF Côte d’Ivoire, Annika Horn, founder of Horn Foundation, Florence Tahiri Fadika, Technical Advisor of the Ivorian Ministry of Digital Transition and Digitalization, and Fabrice Sawegnon, CEO of Voodoo Group.
