AGL joins the United Nations Global Compact to contribute to building a more sustainable future

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), the reference multimodal operator in Africa, is proud to announce that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact, the largest international initiative that aims to support companies in their sustainable transformation. By integrating the Global Compact, AGL is reiterating its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDD) adopted by the United Nations in 2015, and strengthening its willingness to place sustainable development at the heart of its strategy and its projects.

This membership aligns with AGL’s vision that aspires to sustainably contributing to the transformations taking place in Africa, by capitalising on its position as a trusted partner in building a better future. Through this commitment, the company has the ambition to pursue and deepen its actions to promote respect for human rights, international labour standards and environmental protection and to combat corruption.

In accordance with the policy of the United Nations Global Compact, AGL is committed to demonstrating transparency by publishing a Communication On Progress every year. This annual communication will highlight the concrete actions taken by AGL to integrate the Ten Principles of the Global Compact to its strategy, its corporate culture and its everyday operations, while contributing to the SDDs.

«I am profoundly convinced that companies have a key role to play in building a sustainable future for all. Joining the United Nations Global Compact is a sign of our firm commitment towards this goal. AGL is determined to integrate the principles of the Global Compact to every aspect of its business and to actively contribute to achieving the SDDs, alongside our partners and stakeholders.» Phillipe Labonne , Chairman of AGL
