SITARAIL, a subsidiary of the AGL (Africa Global Logistics) group, presented, on February 05, 2026, in Abidjan, four new GL30 diesel-electric locomotives, during an official ceremony chaired by the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Amadou KONE, and in the presence of the Regional Director of AGL Côte d'Ivoire – Burkina Faso,  Asta-Rosa CISSE.
These locomotives, with a power output of approximately 3,000 horsepower and 1,500 gross tons, are equipped with computerized control systems, on-board diagnostic devices and reinforced safety equipment.
This investment is part of a global dynamic to strengthen SITARAIL's equipment fleet. It is in addition to the ongoing acquisition of 260 flatbed wagons, the first part of which, recently received, has already been operational since November 2025. With the entry into operation of this equipment, SITARAIL is continuing the gradual modernization of its engine fleet.

In addition, beyond its operational contribution, this investment is perfectly in line with the desire of the States of Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso to strengthen rail as a lever for sub-regional integration and shared economic development.
