The consortium composed of the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK), Africa Global Logistics (AGL), Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms (Arise IIP) and Belmont Investments announces the creation and official launch of Kribi Port Industrial Zone (KPIZ), a strategic hub dedicated to the industrial, logistics and tourism development of Cameroon and the CEMAC sub-region.

Designed to become a driver of the country's economic transformation, KPIZ aims to attract leading investors, foster local processing of natural resources and strengthen Cameroon's competitiveness in the Gulf of Guinea and the CEMAC sub-region.

Located in the immediate vicinity of the deep-water port of Kribi and covering nearly 4,000 hectares, KPIZ benefits from a strategic geographical position, a hinterland extended to Central Africa as well as a strong potential for the development of industrial, logistics, port and tourism activities.

A structuring investment of 520 billion CFA francs

The project includes the construction of essential infrastructure networks (roads, energy, water, telecommunications), the development of a business and conference centre, as well as modern logistics facilities and specialised industrial zones.

The overall investment is estimated at 795 million euros, or about 520 billion CFA francs, illustrating the scale and ambition of this integrated platform.

These infrastructures are intended to accommodate priority industries identified in the national development strategy, in particular:
•    Steel and steel processing;
•    Timber and forest processing sector;
•    Aluminium and metallurgy;
•    Ceramics and building materials;
•    Cocoa and agro-processing;
•    Textiles and clothing;
•    Automotive assembly;
•    Plastics processing;
•    Cement;
•    Cereals and agri-food processing;
•    Fishing and fishing industries.

A decisive economic impact for Cameroon

KPIZ will also play a key role in:
•    The estimated creation of 110,000 to 150,000 direct and indirect jobs;
•    The potential contribution of 5 to 8% to Cameroon's GDP by 2040;
•    The revitalization of regional logistics corridors linking Cameroon to Chad, RCA and Congo
•    Reducing logistics costs and improving national competitiveness;
•    The local development of mining, agricultural and forestry resources;
•    Strengthening Cameroon's positioning as an industrial and logistics hub of the CEMAC sub-region.

The development of KPIZ is part of a responsible, inclusive and sustainable approach. The consortium is working closely with the Cameroonian authorities to ensure a coherent and harmonized development around the Port of Kribi.

In addition to industrial and logistics infrastructure, the project includes:
•    The provision of essential social services;
•    Improving the living conditions of employees and local populations;
•    Compliance with environmental and social standards;
•    The gradual integration of local SMEs into value chains.

With the launch of KPIZ, Cameroon is taking a decisive step by transforming its port advantage into a true industrial powerhouse, serving sustainable, inclusive and competitive growth for the entire sub-region.
