CAMRAIL, the concessionaire of the Cameroonian railway, successfully completed the transport of nearly 10,000 tons of fertilizer to neighboring Chad on March 10, 2023, on behalf of APM, the Maritime Services Agency.
During this operation, which began on January 5, 2023, CAMRAIL mobilized its logistical capabilities and the expertise of its teams. The operation was carried out with an average load of 20 flatbed wagons per day, or 788 tons, for an average transit time of three days between Douala and Ngaoundéré.
A regular customer of CAMRAIL since 2019, Agence de Prestations Maritimes, which also specializes in transport and logistics, has regularly chosen rail to transport goods for the economy, agriculture, and humanitarian aid to northern Cameroon and ultimately to Chad.
Two other fertilizer transport campaigns are currently underway. The first, launched on March 11, involves the transport of 30,000 tons on behalf of Sodecoton via the Cotton Producers' Collective (CNPC). The second, which began on March 1, aims to transport nearly 17,500 tons of fertilizer to Chad at the request of Coton Tchad.
CAMRAIL has been contributing to the agricultural sector and its development for more than 10 years, both in northern Cameroon and Chad. Through its railway, the company supplies thousands of farmers with fertilizer at low cost, which has a real impact on production and, consequently, on reducing the risk of famine.
As a mass transporter, CAMRAIL has in recent years expanded its range of services to meet the specific needs of its customers, including door-to-door delivery. Its transshipment areas and warehouses, particularly in Yaoundé, Bélabo, and Ngaoundéré, are undeniable assets in ensuring customer satisfaction, which is CAMRAIL's top priority.
