Our History
SOGECO is a pioneer in global logistics services in Mauritania. Founded in 1972 with the initial goal of modernizing ship and cargo management at the Port of Nouakchott, our company has evolved into a sophisticated international service provider, offering a wide range of facilities and expertise.
Since 2004, SOGECO has been an integral part of the Africa Global Logistics Group, one of the world’s leading transportation networks and the undisputed specialist in transportation in Africa. Leveraging our strategically located warehouses and our two operational offices at Nouakchott Airport as well as at the ports of Nouakchott, Nouadhibou, and Ndiago, our company positions itself as a catalyst for relevant and innovative logistics solutions in Mauritania.

SOGECO is positioned as the leading logistics provider for West Africa’s largest gas project, the GTA. Our logistics expertise spans the complex landscape of traffic and transportation, from shipping to receiving, import and export operations, warehousing, lifting, inventory management, procurement, production planning, and customer service.

The strategic location of the Port of Ndiago, just 10 km from the Gas Hub (GTA), makes it an attractive option for shipments to the hinterland, particularly Mali. Our port infrastructure thus helps to effectively facilitate trade in the region.
