AGL Chad is equipping itself with a new fleet of lifting, handling, and transport equipment, including a 50-tonne crane, trailers extendable to 18 meters, and a refrigerated truck. This equipment allows the subsidiary to broaden its offering across three key business lines (heavy lifting, heavy and oversized cargo transport, and temperature-controlled logistics) to meet its customers’ growing needs and support the new projects emerging in Chad.

For industrial, oil, and energy projects, AGL Chad is first strengthening its heavy lifting and handling capabilities. The subsidiary is taking delivery of a 12-tonne FAW truck-mounted crane, a Manitou MHT-X790 telehandler, and a Kalmar DCG160 heavy-duty forklift fitted with a pipe clamp, designed for handling pipes and other specific loads.

On the road, a MAN TGS tractor unit paired with 50- and 80-tonne trailers, extendable to 18 meters, makes it possible to organize abnormal load convoys and move heavy or oversized cargo across the entire country, serving infrastructure sites and major industrial projects.

The arrival of a refrigerated truck also opens up temperature-controlled transport for AGL Chad, for the benefit of the food, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries, sectors that demand rigorous cold chain control. Finally, new 3- to 7-tonne forklifts help streamline loading, unloading, and storage operations, in the yard as well as in the warehouse.

This investment comes with a focus on skills: AGL Chad has trained its operators to drive this new equipment and recruited new staff. Recent equipment, operated by trained teams, also helps strengthen the safety and quality of operations, in line with the company’s QHSE standards.

With this new equipment, we are concretely expanding what we can offer our customers: heavy lifting, abnormal load convoys, temperature-controlled transport. It is a direct response to the growth in their needs and to the major projects emerging in Chad. It is also an investment in our teams, whom we have trained and strengthened to operate this fleet safely.

Amaury VrignaudManaging Director of AGL Chad

This new fleet is part of AGL Chad’s policy of continuous investment in its operational resources, serving the country’s strategic sectors: energy, industry, infrastructure, trade, and healthcare.
